The MSL bar code labels are very comprehensive, it contains the following information:
National Stock Number (NSN), contractor cage number, contract number, product description, quantity, weight, volume, shipping source, destination,
priority, etc,.
Every contract has a packaging section with particular specifications. It is important to know what are the packaging specs for every shipment. The MSL labels are large labels (4x6)
The individual bar code labels (small labels) usually contains only the product NSN (number) and the contractor cage number. Again it is important to find out in your contract whether you need or not individual labels.
The RFID labels contain the contractor’s cage number and a particular
hexadecimal number, these labels can be used for different contracts and
shipments as long as the contract cage number and the shipping source (address) are the same.
The MSL labels can be used only for a particular contract, while the RFID
Labels can be used as explained in previous paragraph. |
